Video is ever more becoming the relavent channel that luxury and fashion brands employ to tell stories. The crux of this is sharing some glimpse of the “real” magic behind the curtain – and one might argue it could even steal the show. A compelling example is the stunning backstage film crafted by Sean Frank featuring Sarah Burton’s Fall/Winter 2012 runway show for Alexander McQueen. Apart from showcasing the beautifully futuristic, feminine collection itself, the mood, the music, and the flurry of hands deftly working with materials and models make for a very human side of what is otherwise a fixed fantasy. The riveting reality just may succeed the dream.
