Magdalena Frachkovyak, Viktor & Rolf, Josh Olins, spring summer 2010, Dazed & Confused, The Amsterdam Chainsaw Massacre

In what appears to be never-ending uncertain times, it’s easy to forget the importance of being brave and bold. Therefore it seems fitting to re vist a genius of the recent past by the clever hands of Victor & Rolf. With their Spring Summer 2010 collection, they defied not only reason, but the laws of physics. It was very nearly all tulle all the time, with the most spectacular pieces having been curiously maimed with the perfect precision of a chainsaw (okay, maybe a laser). Josh Olins shot this acclaimed collection for Dazed and Confused all the way back in February 2010, but it resonates still as a grand reminder of the merits of being shamelessly – and beautifully – unreasonable.
