spring 2013 ready-to-wear, Thankoon, Jason Wu, La Perla, Helmut Newton, Ohne Titel, New York Fashion Week

At this stage in fashion week, the trends for spring 2013 ready-to-wear are emerging. Color palettes of corals and oranges, along with a generous range of blues are taking relevant positions. Black, white and flesh tones are claiming prominence in collections as well. Sheers and prints are ever present, as noted in Thankoon‘s whimsical bird and botanical themed offerings. Jason Wu outright seduces with his lacy, floral version of sheers in collaboration with La Perla. The Helmut Newton inspired collection is nearly all leather and lace, while remaining positively elegant. An additional trend making its presence known is curvilinear color blocking and bold graphics. The fit-and-flare signature silhouettes of Ohne Titel make this statement along with wide-net mesh and perforated leather in yet another variation on sheers. This curious mind eagerly awaits what else these final two days of New York Fashion Week have in store…
