Prada continues to ramp up it’s multimedia merits with the release of one very striking video campaign for the women’s fall winter collection. With a chess board as a stage, Anne Vyalitsyna, Elza Luijendijk, Iselin Steiro, Madison Headrick, Magdalena Frackowiak and Vanessa Axente square off in a battle of fashion in bold geometric prints that are both retro and futuristic. So much color and tension stirs in both the collection itself and the performances, directed by the ever extraordinary Steven Meisel. The print and video campaign can be viewed on the Prada website as well as on facebook and youtube.

The Valentina Website experience is a wonderful video and interactive adventure through Rome at night in search of where Valentina might be gallivanting (she leaves clues) as well as an opportunity to view the bottle, olfactive notes and story behind the fragrance. The most engaging part of the experience is the invitation to share your vision of a Valentina night in your own city via #MyValentinaNights on Instagram and Facebook – and possibly find yourself following her mischievous footsteps in Rome.

Not everyone loves the branding moves creative director Hedi Slimane has been conducting at Yves Saint Laurent – correction Saint Laurent Paris. However, there is an interesting development that one can’t help but like and it is in the form of a beautiful new eyeshadow palette anointed “Devoted to Fans YSL #1” and inspired by the branded colors of Facebook. This is the first time any product has been inspired by Facebook and in keeping with the theme, the shimmery blue, purple, black and white tones will be available on YSL’s official Fragrances and Beauty Facebook page starting July 19th. This token of admiration does come with couture cost at roughly $60, £39, or €50 and are in limited edition of 1,650. Could this mark the start of high luxury embracing social media engagement? Your move Givenchy…

Burberry is ever the digital darling, as it launches it’s fall 2012 campaign in an impressive 10 social media outlets. These include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Google+ and YouTube. Add to this, the emerging platforms of China: Sina Weibo (Twitter with a splash of Facebook ), Douban ( meets Facebook), Youku (Youtube clone), and Kaixin001 (Chinese Facebook). Perhaps more luxury brands will follow suit.

The moody, cinematic images photographed by Mario Testino feature model/musician Roo Panes and model/actress Gabriella Wilde. London’s signature fog drenched, rainy atmosphere and Old Royal Naval College play strong supporting roles, to the leading roles of the iconic outerwear in rich, mysterious black-and-white. A series of 5 short films featuring the music of Mr. Panes and close cropped glimpses of accessories and apparel are below.
