Wonderful things appeared on the Chanel Haute Couture catwalk yesterday: Karl presented work that was classically glorious and beautifully demure. There was a welcoming softness in the color palette as well as the sheer materials, but what made the collection spectacular was the luminous glow of glitter. It flowed through edging on evening dresses, wide wool trousers, tights, and of course the signature tweed suits. Welcome to the world, New Vintage.

The BeautifulCurious most desired dress of the Chanel Haute Couture Collection is:

Once again, the forces of Karl (with Carine Roitfeld) make a dynamic statement with the understated, this time with that other House of Chanel classic: The Little Black Jacket. And it takes the form of an exhibition, an online experience, and a book featuring over 100 celebrities, artists and provocateurs wearing this iconic – and ever versatile – jacket, whilst adding their own signature twists. It’s a brilliant sensation that is inspiring, timeless and oh so Coco:

Someone has it quite rough… or maybe she just plays that way? Alice Dellal, the anything but tragic girl who is the face of the Boy Chanel handbag collection poses in a curious tale only Karl could pull off. The bags, iconically beautiful in all their shark, alligator, iridescent, quilted or patent leather splendor are truly magnificent and appear to bear the burdon of a glamourous life far better than Alice.

NEO-Romantic, Vogue Italia, Emma Summerton, Imogen Morris Clarke, Abbey-Lee Kershaw, Gemma Arterton, Rodarte, Chanel, Roberto Cavalli, Karl Lagerfeld, Alexander McQueen, Nina RicciEmma Summerton takes us on a delightful fashion romp in Vogue Italia‘s “NEO-romatic” with the likes of Rodarte, Chanel, Roberto Cavalli, Karl Lagerfeld, Alexander McQueen, and Nina Ricci (just to name a few). Her attention to detail and ability to showcase both wardrobe and accessories at at their best is what I find sets her work apart. The blue and gold color palette here is exquisite and the compositions are paired down to perfection. She has also achieved a masterful balance of pattern and texture. Emma is currently working on a book of unpublished self-portraits, which I eagerly await and her video work starring Gemma Arterton is terrific:

Givenchy, Nick Knight, Ode Couture, Riccardo Tisci, Ming Xi, Jonathan Kaye, Givenchy, Chanel, Versace and Valentino, Karl Lagerfeld, V MagazineAh, the delights of silk, satin, chiffon, and feathers… better still is the beautiful way such things flow through the air. Nick Knight has captured the movement of these Givenchy, Chanel, Versace and Valentino dresses with ethereal grace in this editorial titled “Ode Couture” for V Magazine. In his innovative photographic and video work, he consistently challenges conventional notions of beauty. Further to this, he launched in 2000, an online fashion media company that showcases experimental interactive projects, films and live performances.
