Curious Luxury, LVMH, PPR, Dom Perignon, David Lynch, The Power of Creation, Dom Pérignon 2003, Rosé 2000, Recent news out of Paris regarding growth for LVMH and PPR (even in the Chinese, Japanese and US markets) is certainly worth celebrating, in part due to the very liquid celebrations are made of. The wines and spirits division of LVMH is up 15% for the first half of the year and their very own Dom Pérignon has yet another reason to toast: a sparkling collaboration with David Lynch. It is ‘a little magic theatre’ in the form of a limited-edition bottle design and ad campaign titled “The Power of Creation” for Dom Pérignon 2003 and the Rosé 2000. The designs are ‘a process of tuning in and then through experimentation getting something that expresses the essential nature.’

Discover synergies of “mystery, intensity, commitment, time, the constant reinvention of the self, and above all, absolute faith in the power of creation:”

The limited-edition bottles will come available at the end of the year… cheers to David and Dom!

Orient Express, Fall Winter 2012 Collection, Louis Vuitton, Steven Meisel, LVMH

The glorious (and decadently expensive) Orient Express themed fall winter 2012 collection that Louis Vuitton presented back in February continues it’s journey through the capable lense of Steven Meisel. The rich ocher, red, mocha and eggplant color palette of the apparel and accessories so well suits Meisel’s brilliant color sensibilities. It is an alluring retro road trip that is not only a nod to the Louis Vuitton brand heritage, but also the opulent beauty and romance of the journey.

Les Arts Decoratifs, Mode et Textile, Louis Vuitton - Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton et Marc Jacobs, Pamela Golbin, LVMH, Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton, Fanclub, Paris

Yes, you read that correctly and no, LVMJ is not a mistake. Tomorrow, The Musée de la Mode et du Textile will be presenting to the public “Louis Vuitton – Marc Jacobs”. It is certain to be a riveting look at the work of Louis Vuitton himself and the work of Marc Jacobs as the current artistic director for Louis Vuitton. In the words of Pamela Golbin, the curator of this exhibition: “The exhibition was a way to speak about two moments in fashion history which are crucial. With Louis it was about industrialisation and with Marc it’s about globalisation.” Both are tremendous forces of innovation and cultural influence that will continue to reverberate well into the future.
