Following the fun of trying on Kristin Hanson‘s incredible creations, a decision had to be made! Her Heliconia earrings had me smitten, so we began to explore how to make them into something uniquely mine. She sketched several ideas of earrings, that complimented my aesthetic and would carry me from day into night.

It is a real luxury to have someone so passionate about colored diamonds share her tremendous knowledge. Of course there is a colored diamond for every color under the sun, but it is mesmerizing to observe, first hand, the wide variations of champagne, yellow, green and pink tones!

While I have quite a lot of pink garments, I wanted to incorporate splashes of color that would compliment my broader wardrobe. I had never been exposed to moss green diamonds and was drawn to their subtle hues. She suggested matching brilliant cut moss diamonds to serve as the post, set in yellow gold. Added to this would be a blending of honey and pink champagne diamonds, among the diamond pave in platinum.

Now my lovely earrings are set on their path to becoming a reality and stay tuned for when I “meet” them…

This post is an incredibly exciting one, as it involves a bespoke jewel made just for me by the lovely and talented Kristin Hanson! Over the course of the next week, I will share the couture experience she offers and of course, the glittering earrings that I am so eager to begin wearing soon.

We started with the best part: playing with diamonds jewels!

The Weekly Bauble this week is another fancy one. However, exceptional Blue Opals are involved!

From Katherine Jetter‘s Colored Diamond Collection comes this set of unforgettable Poison Berry Earrings. They are among a limited edition of rare jewels created in collaboration with LJ West Diamonds. Katherine creates extraordinary pieces inspired her native Australian natural landscape, using its revered Pink Argyle Diamond and Opal treasures. The luminous Blue Opal petals are hand carved and beautifully complimented by a swirling stem of diamond melee and Pink Argyle Diamond leaves and pear shaped drops.

Our Bauble this week is about to change the meaning of “the winter blues”!

This is all thanks to Leon Megé, who knows how to drop a pair of sapphires beneath a few diamond friends. Even more wonderfully unusual is that these sapphires have that unique color changing ability, akin to a certain steely blue-hued stunner, the Hope Diamond. Ideally matched, the stones are cut with a perfection unheard of in a pair of high grade natural unheated sapphires. The antique cushion, pear, and round diamonds from which they dangle are eloquently arranged and beautifully balanced.

If I am not mistaken, these baubles give reason to celebrate the winter blues!

Recently, I visited Leon’s new showroom and had the pleasure of experiencing more of his creations. Below are a few of these beautiful baubles…

The Weekly Bauble that I share today is uniquely beautiful inside and out!

Leon Megé‘s luminous moonstone ring literally glows from within by way of five custom cut sapphire cabochons set in a platinum and rose gold patterned cup. This diamond encrusted cradle is a special secret treasure – one that is meant only for the eyes of the lovely lady who has the pleasure of wearing it. It is this delicate and airy aesthetic that defines Leon’s elegant forms. His approach to celebrating stones through limited use of precious metal, employing centuries-old European techniques, and philosophy of minimalism and precision characterize his signature.

This beautiful bauble certainly has captured these curious eyes!
